Loni Jane's Clearlight® Sauna Protocol

What's notable in Loni's approach to how she uses her Clearlight Infrared® Sauna is her free-spirited and light-hearted approach.

No two days are the same for Loni, and she encompasses this in her sauna practice "I kinda just go with how I feel on the day, with what I feel that I need, and I kinda mix it up" she goes on to say "there are so many different ways I use my sauna, and that's what's great about it... it's in my home and I can do whatever I want in it".

Below we've outlined some of the key points that Loni talks about in the episode.

Mix Up The Days You Sauna

Loni uses her Clearlight Infrared® Sauna roughly 3-4 times a week but says she mixes it up depending on exterior factors such as the weather.

She also really enjoys going to Yoga classes, so depending on what she has on during the week and how she is feeling really determines how many times she uses her Clearlight Infrared® Sauna.

We believe this is a great approach, keep things light-hearted and don't take things too seriously, remember sauna bathing is supposed to be fun and relaxing, so there's no point adding extra pressure or accountability to your plate.

Creating An Atmosphere In Your Sauna

For Loni, the atmosphere is extremely important, and there's a good reason why.

The atmosphere can make or break your mood, how you feel, and your ability to truly unwind and relax.

Giving yourself your own personal space and time to be alone to just let your hair down and be you can make all the difference when it comes to being able to relax.

Luckily Clearilght Infrared® Saunas have you covered with our Medical Grade Chromotherapy or light therapy and our Bluetooth speakers.

When combined, these two sensory technologies allow you to completely control your environment, setting the mood with different coloured lights and choosing your favourite relaxation music.

As Loni says "I'm looking for any type of relaxation in a minimal amount of time".

Incorporate Massage, Gua Sha, Essential Oils Or Cupping

The benefit of owning your own personal sauna is that you can do whatever you like in there, without having to worry about a timer or the next session after you.

Loni takes this to the limits stating "I've got a lot of stuff in my sauna", by incorporating different practices, not only can you maximise the therapeutic benefits but you can also have fun and entertain yourself, "the wood in my sauna is just covered in oils... I've just got a basket with everything".

Loni also takes in a book and will continue to read inside her sauna even after her sauna session has finished.

Exercises Inside Your Sauna

Another great thing to incorporate into your sauna sessions is some light exercise.

Yoga or stretching are some easy, fun, and low-intensity exercises that perfectly accompany the heat from your infrared sauna.

"Sometimes I do weights... I'll add it to a yoga routine or I'll do Bikram... or sometimes I'll just lay"

Hydrate And Replenish Your Minerals

Possibly the most important aspect of any sauna bathing session is to make sure you replenish your minerals post-sauna.

If you're going to hydrate with water, why not upgrade to a fresh cold-pressed juice or smoothie.

Adding nutrient-rich vegetables and fruits to your liquid will help restore the salts and minerals lost from your sweat.

Keep it organic, keep it clean and keep it simple.

Finish With A Cold Shower

Having a cold shower after your sauna session is a great way to pump out all of the toxins and waste materials that your blood collects during your session, and filter it through the organs.

We've recently talked to Dr Marc Cohen about this very topic, and you can read more about it here.
